Care advices

You will be able to enjoy your outdoor furniture even longer, if you take good care of them. Below please find some good advices on how to keep them in good look and shape now and for the future.

Art. rattan, plastic and textilene

Clean with a damp cloth and Brafab's plastic cleaner or mild detergent. High pressure wash should not be used. Never place hot items directly on the material. Always use glass and glass beads as they may burn with strong sun.

Laminate

Clean with a damp cloth and a dishwasher or all-purpose cleaner. Wipe dry with a dry cloth. Never place hot items directly on the surface, always use coats.

Nonwood

Clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent. High pressure washing should not be used. For objects that could be scorching hot by sunlight, make sure to use coasters or equal to avoid marks on the top. Temperature changes can cause the material to "move" and bulge slightly.

Acacia - Hardwood

All our acacia is taken from certified plantations in Vietnam. To keep the beautiful surface of the furniture, they should be treated with a Brafabolja. New furniture should be saturated with oil. This is done by applying oil several times after each other until as much as possible has been absorbed. Excess oil is wiped away. We recommend that the furniture be treated with oil several times each year, especially in the spring before being taken out for the season.

Painted/ laserized acacia

Clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Please dry thoroughly. Protect the furniture for rain, preferably with a well-ventilated furniture cover. Wipe the furniture if it has rained on it. If there is a damage to the paint, sand the surface easily with a fine sandpaper and clean from dirt. Before painting the damaged area, first measure a small area to make sure you have the correct color. Contact one color trade for advice on the right product.

Teak

Note! The care advice does not apply to white pigmented and grayed teak. Heavily soiled teak needs to be cleaned with Wood cleaner. Lighter dirt is washed off with water and mild detergent. Wet the teak for a while before cleaning so that the surface softens slightly. If the wood fibers have risen after cleaning, you can sand the surface lightly with fine sandpaper. Let the furniture dry for at least 24 hours, then finish with Wood protection or teak oil.

Natural colored brusched teak

Our brushed teak is treated with a wood impregnation and normally only a mild detergent is required. The furniture can be treated with wood cleaner, wood protection and teak oil.

White- pigmented teak

Clean with lukewarm water, mild detergent and a soft cloth, alternatively with white pigmented soap. Allow the furniture to dry completely, at least one day more, and finish with Wood Protection, which is completely colorless and prevents moisture and dirt from penetrating into the wood.

Gray teak

Clean with lukewarm water, mild detergent and a soft cloth. Maintain the furniture with wood cleaner and wood protection.

Pinewood

All our fur furniture is made of Swedish FSC-certified pine. When the surface is matte and water no longer pearls on the surface it is time to treat the furum furniture. Thoroughly clean the furniture, allow it to dry for at least a day and then treat it with a Brafab oil. For painted pines see care instructions for Akacia.

Stainless steel

Stainless steel is a very weather-resistant material. However, a specific form of surface corrosion or coating can occur in certain exposed environments. This can be removed using a cleaning agent for stainless steel. We recommend Brafab’s Nano Spray, which both cleans and applies a protective film. This treatment should take place twice a year to keep the furniture looking good.

Tighten the screws

It is a good habit to tighten the screws some times each season, for example before placing them in winter-storage and when you take them out for the season premiere.

Winter storage

When the season is over, the furniture will do best if you protect it from the wind and weather in a dry, cool, well-ventilated space. Make sure it’s dry when you store it, and ideally use furniture covers. Make sure there is a free flow of air so that the furniture is ventilated.

Furniture covers

To keep and protect your furniture even longer, we recommend the usage of furniture covers. We have a broad range of covers that are either sewn specifically for different furniture or larger covers that are suitable for protection of a group of furniture. All our covers are made and sewn with details so that the cover stay in place.
