Manufacturing rattan furniture is pure handicraft. The long rattan wickers are twisted around a wooden frame. The result is a natural piece of furniture which creates a warm and cosy feeling for your conservatory or living room. Rattan palm Calamus stems can grow up to 150 metres long and thanks to their extreme flexibility are readily used to make baskets and furniture. But first, the annual growth rings are filed away and the rattan is then dyed and painted. Natural rattan should not be allowed to get wet. It is therefore a material for the conservatory or a covered outdoor area.
